New York City and Brooklyn’s 46th City Council District is changing every day. The need for clear-headed, balanced policies has never been greater. The COVID-19 Pandemic has spawned its own negative impact and has aggravated the underlying conditions in New York City The fall-out has changed - perhaps forever- the social and political fabric of both the city and District 46 in fundamental ways. However, the needs of our working families have remained constant.
As she has done all of her adult life, Judy will continue to fight for policies that preserve our middle class and working families. She will CONTINUE THE LEGACY that have given us better schools, more job opportunities, with a distinct focus on building the Small and Medium Business community, attend to Quality-of-Life issues for all residents of the 46th District, as well as keeping an eye on protections for our Senior Citizens.
Reflecting upon the values on which she was raised, Judy is continually listening, learning, and processing the facts of the issues and the feelings of residents and her neighbors to find creative and balanced solutions that will best serve her district, her City, and the great borough of Brooklyn. We can depend on her for informed, proactive and balanced leadership in the New York City Council. Here are the ISSUES that Judy will promote to benefit all residents of the 46th District.

JUDY D. NEWTON'S
3-PART RECOVERY PLAN FOR
DISTRICT 46 AND NEW YORK CITY
1. SAFE COMMUNITIES, SAFER NEW YORK CITY
2. A BOLD, TRANSFORMATIVE ECONOMY THAT BENEFITS EVERYONE
3. BUILD BACK OUR SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY - BIGGER AND BETTER
We CANNOT build back District 46 - and New York City - if we do not address critical burning issues now facing us. My 3-PART RECOVERY PLAN will ensure a vibrant, thriving District 46, and a New York City on the way to economic recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the negative aftermath that continues to this day.
SAFE COMMUNITIES, SAFER CITY:
Economic, social and business recovery, growth and expansion cannot and will not happen if we do not tackle issues of crime and violence both in our neighborhoods and across New York City. If our neighborhoods and communities continue to be savaged by crime and violence – especially gun violence – big business and corporations will not choose New York City as a place to do business. Small businesses will not have the confidence to re-open or start-ups to invest in new businesses if public safety is a major concern and headache. So, it is incumbent on the New York City Council, together with community leaders, and stakeholders find solutions to this problem. JUDY D. NEWTON will make PUBLIC SAFETY a priority. It’s About Us!
